During this experience, you will learn to prepare a Mediterranean influenced or traditional Irish meal from recipes Mary has adapted over the years. You will be cooking 2-3 dishes, learning all about the tips and techniques involved in Irish cooking before you sit down to share the meal you helped prepare.
Your meal may include dishes such as local smoked salmon for an appetizer, fresh soup or salad and slow roasted pork belly with seasonal vegetables as a main, and traditional Bailey’s Irish cream cheesecake for dessert. Mary serves wine by Enrico Fantasia who recently won an award as a unique wine supplier!

Enjoy a cooking lesson and meal on a river boat with your host Mary. Mary grew up eating delicious meals cooked from fresh local produce and now enjoys cooking and sharing with travelers the food she grew up eating. Before starting her houseboat business, Mary was a professional caterer and catered for movie and television show crews. She now lives on a houseboat with her husband Jorn and opened up another houseboat to share the beauty of the Irish riverside with travelers. The floating barge travels on the Shannon river system between Enniskillen and Carrick-on-Shannon. Feel free to let Mary know when making your booking which cuisine (Mediterranean influenced or traditional Irish) you prefer! If you prefer a cooking demo instead of a hands-on class, during which you will watch Mary prepare the meal, just let her know in advance.
