On An Ice Tour of York, we’ll stop on Hungate to hear about how Romans turned ice clays into ceramics. We’ll then stroll down Coppergate to learn how Jorvik’s archaeologists found evidence, not so much of Viking ice, but of Viking lice.

To finish An Ice Tour of York, we’ll ascend from Queen’s Staith up a glacial hill to admire Capaldi’s former ice cream factory on Fetter’s Lane. We’ll then head via Trinity Lane to Micklegate Bar, where we will finish An Ice Tour of York by explaining how the Ice Age shaped the landscape of York, and why the city wouldn’t be here without it.
