We start this tour at Kilkenny Castle which was founded after the Norman conquest of Ireland. The castle has been rebuilt to suit the needs of its inhabitants.

This grand country house surrounded by parkland with mature trees, woodlands and a terraced rose garden amongst other is a Victorian remodelling of the thirteenth century defensive Castle.

This merchant’s house, built around two courtyards, was restored in 1966. Now it is the headquarters of the Kilkenny Archaeological Society. (This attraction on Sunday will be replaced by Medieval Mile Museum)
