First, you get picked up from the cruise terminal and then visit a 12th-century gem, Romsey Abbey. Dr Geoff leads you through this marvel. See the grandeur of this monastery and learn about the people who worshipped inside. Second, we then have a short drive to Salisbury. Dr Geoff also gives a personal tour of this Cathedral which many consider one of the finest examples of medieval English Gothic architecture. You will be astounded by the stunning interior as your eyes gaze towards the heavens – it was designed this way – truly awe-inspiring. Third, after our two tours and lunch in a 700-year-old pub, we head to London where our tour ends at Paddington Station.

Romsey is a great place to stop as it is on the way to Salisbury and is a medieval gem. It will be great to see a fantastic example of a 12th-century Abbey. Its craftsmanship will astound you. It gives you a great opportunity to compare it with the masterpiece that we will see at Salisbury Cathedral built only 100 years later.

We depart Southampton just after 9 am and head to Romsey Abbey, which will take about 30 minutes. Dr. Geoff will show you this fabulous building. We depart Romsey around 11:30 am.

We will arrive in Salisbury around noon. We can head over to a 700-year-old pub for lunch or you can choose the Cathderal restaurant. Dr Geoff starts the private tour at 1:30.
This is one of the world’s great architectural treasures, a must for anyone visiting England. It has not changed in almost 750 years! You have to see it to believe it – it is awe-inspiring.

Not to be missed is one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta, sealed by King John in 1215. Come see for yourself what some believe to be one of the foundation documents of modern democracy.

Around 3:30 pm we will depart for London arriving at Paddington at approximately 6 pm.
