Why choose this Pembrokeshire tour ?

An original and hilarious comedy walking tour of St Davids, guided by “the actual” St David and his 11th century biographer. This is a unique experience, covering over 2,000 years of absurd and at times questionable local history, based on the medieval works of Rhygyfarch the Wise. Expect heavily-embellished stories from the perspective of Wales’s patron saint, as well as stories about Vikings, monks, and a leek, all within the beautiful surroundings of Britain’s Smallest City. This “brilliantly imaginative” tour is a must-do activity for anyone looking to do something different on their stay in Pembrokeshire, suitable for all ages.

What makes St Davids Comedy Walking Tour a unique experience ?

The tour starts here and you will get to see the eco-friendly outside of the centre plus a hidden garden, the legendary St Non’s Rocks and a Neolithic picnic table.

Stryd yr Afr. Once a place of torment for the local monks, now clear of goats, we’ll pass down freely without fear of being eaten.

Cross Square, St Davids, is the centre of the city, home to the local market, iconic cross monument and war memorial garden. You will hear stories about Welsh icon Owain Glyndwr, plus lesser known stories about the brotherhood of St David.

We stop outside this iconic local delicatessen (now sadly closed) for some stories about monastic beekeeping, vikings and a horse.

One of the last surviving reminders of the Viking influence on St Davids

See the site of the oldest recorded bed &breakfast in the city (dating back to 11th century) and hear about a very famous former monarch who once stayed there.

We’ll pass this iconic local inn and hear about the strange origins behind its name, plus you’ll get to see one of St Davids hidden gems: The Window.

Another stop in St Davids is porth y twr, the oldest part of the cathedral complex and home to hundreds of years of ghostly rumours. We’ll stop here to hear stories about a dark monastic conspiracy to do away with St Dai, plus a chance to see the remains of Wales’s oldest public outhouse.

The tour ends at the cathedral where you will hear stories about an epic battle between the Devil and St Dai and the original monastery. We don’t go down the steps, so you are free to explore the cathedral in your own time
