What makes London Half Day Private Tour with A Friendly Local a unique experience ?

Westminster is the bustling government area near Buckingham Palace. The area is named after the famous Westminster Abbey. We will see the Houses of Parliament, the world famous Big Ben that has been recently renovated to reveal its glory and explore surrounding areas.

We will see the magnificent exterior of Westminster abbey and explore the surrounding areas. Every Royal King and Queen have been crowned there. Royal wedddings and funerals are held there too.
Many famous people have been entombed there including Charles Darwin, Sir Isaac Newton and Stephen Hawkins.
Many writers, poets, politicians and Royalty are also buried or commemorated there, many of them among the most significant in the nation’s history.

We will visit St James’s Park to enjoy nature and bird life. This is the most royal of London’s Royal Parks. Shaped by generations of monarchs and bordered by three royal palaces, St. James’s Park is the home of ceremonial events in the capital. From royal weddings and jubilees to military parades and state celebrations – this is the park where history is made.
It is also the prettiest park full of spectacular trees, blooms and colouful waterbirds.

Just a short walk from the famous Buckingham Palace is the magnificent St James’s Palace. This spectacular working royal palace is used today by the Royal Family for ceremonial occasions and entertaining, but it has also been the setting for some of the most important events in royal history. Once a hunting lodge and at a time the official residence of royalty, our current king His Majesty King Charles III was proclaimed King there.

Buckingham Palace is recognised around the world as the home of the monarch, the focus of national and royal celebrations, as well as the backdrop to the regular Changing the Guard ceremony.

Just a few steps away from Buckingham Palace lies the tranquil Green Park – a little oasis of calm in the hectic heart of the city. We will cut through the park to take the Underground also known as the Tube to Borough market.

We will stop for a drink and a snack at Borough Market, the oldest food market in London established in the 10th century.
This market offers a variety of the best of British foods.
A historic market in central London with an emphasis on high quality food, sustainable production and social connection.

Southwark Cathedral is a stunning, hidden gem just off Borough Market and close to London Bridge tube station. It is the oldest church building in London. There has been a church on the grounds since 606 AD and it was also the site of Roman pagan worship.
Shakespeare himself was a resident of the parish, and there is a memorial there for him. It’s pretty certain that he attended services at the church given that his brother Edmund is buried within the church grounds (although quite where has been lost to the mists of time)
We will then take a stroll to our next destination.

We will stroll down to ‘More London’, a newly developed square with great views of The Tower of London and the impressive Tower Bridge.More London was developed between 2000 and 2010 and offers some of London’s most stunning uninterrupted river view office, leisure and retail space.

We will conclude our tour in the historic George Pub, established 1542. It is the only galleried coach house in London and was a favourite of both Dickens and Shakespeare, where you can enjoy a refreshing non-alcoholic or alcoholic beverage (over 18).
