Stop At: HMS Warrior 1860, Victory Gate, Historic Dockyard, Portsmouth PO1 3QX England

Launched in 1860, Warrior was the most heavily armed and feared ship in the British Navy. This Iron Clad Ship patrolled the channel and served as a detterant against French attack. She has masts and sails, but also a powerful Engine room.

However, the Victorian era was one of rapid development and industrialisation and Warrior soon became obsolete. Warrior truly was the end of Warships under sail.

Eventually becoming and oil refueling vessel
until the late 1970s. In the 1980s she underwent an incredible restoration project, and you can now see Warrior returned to her 1860’s glory.
