What makes Historic Greenwich Private Walking Tour a unique experience ?

Our experienced guide will walk you through the past and present of the Old Royal Naval College. The college ground was once where Placentia Palace stood, where King Henry VIII, Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Mary were born. Parts of the artefacts and flooring remain buried between the towers in the college. The beautiful Greenwich Park was once the palace’s garden.
We will stop by the Royal Chapel which was rebuilt in 1779 after a fire. With its richly decorated ceiling, naval themes, and exceptional altarpiece painted by ‘the Raphael of America’, Benjamin West, it is evident why the Chapel is now regarded as one of the finest neo-classical interiors in existence.
Don’t miss the royal entrance when the members of the royal family used to visit the palace by boat.
(Include 15 mins. introduction and 15 mins to walk to the next attraction)

We walk up a small steep hill through Greenwich Park to the Royal Observatory. First you can marvel the views across London, then visit the home to Greenwich Mean Time and stand on the Prime Meridian Line.
(Include 10 mins. to walk to the next attraction)

Our guide will take you to visit the magnificent tea clipper, Cutty Sark. It was built in 1870 and was the fastest ship in the world, transporting tea from China to England in 71 days, travelling up to 350 miles in a day!
(Include 10 mins of walking time to the next attraction)

We will end the tour at Greenwich Market. Opened in 1737, it has an amazing range of arts and crafts stalls, historic pubs, a food court and a 130 years old, family-run pie shop.
