Your tour will start in the City of Westminster, and in the company of a kid-friendly professional guide you will learn interesting facts about London’s history and culture through fun stories and activities, designed to entertain children so that they wont get bored during the walk.

You will see the beautiful Gothic facade of Westminster Abbey, one of the most famous churches in England and the most important religious building in all of the United Kingdom. The Abbey is a UNESCO heritage site and the traditional venue for the coronation of Britain’s kings and queens.

Right next to Westminster Abbey stand the majestic Houses of Parliament, another recognizable London landmark which serves as the meeting place for both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. Of course, you will also see Big Ben, the world’s largest chiming clock. With its four faces and 11 floors, it stands 315ft (96 metres) tall.

While you walk along Whitehall, your guide will show and explain to you all the most famous monuments and buildings you will see on the way, such as the statue of Winston Churchill, Downing Street and Horse Guards Parade. Your guide will fascinate you with anecdotes about British History, a much better way to learn history than from a text book!

You will then reach Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of British sovereigns since 1837, and today the administrative headquarters of the Monarch. It serves as the venue for many royal events and ceremonies, and it is a focal point for significant national celebrations and commemorations. 
Here you can witness the evocative ceremony of the Changing of the Guard (if scheduled and weather permitting), and your guide will know where to stand in order to have the best possible view, as it can be very crowded.

Using the “Tube”, the oldest metro system in the world, you will reach the City of London, the site of the most ancient part of Greater London. Here you will be able to see the remains of a section of the old London Wall, fortifications built by the Romans at the time of the great Roman Empire to protect the city.

Moreover, you will see St. Paul’s Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece and the location of several national celebrations. With its huge dome, it provides another iconic feature of the London skyline and is known across the world.

• The Changing the Guard takes place between August and May every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and everyday in June and July, but it doesn’t take place in the rain or in a very bad weather (the guards cancel ceremony if it rains, because the rain could damage their brass instruments).
