In 2005 while working on the trading floor of a Major bank in the City I predicted an incoming financial crash; it came true in 2008. Today I am compelled to share what I learned, like why a stick can be better money than gold, and how this stick money came to define an era known as Merry England!

Since the creation of Bank of England the City of London created and empire and today is the center of global finance. I share the unique history, traditions and innovations that made this city the envy of kings.

You will learn about the different types of money we have had throughout the ages, The history that defined the money we have today, and the key themes that have continued to influence it: Technology, Sovereigns, Wars, Religion, Greed and Philosophy.

Ancient mythology is woven into our story of money and power, beginning outside the sculpture of the minotaur in Salters garden and concluding at the ancient Roman temple where the Sun god is shown sacrificing a bull!

Starting out tour at the statue of the Minotaur it sets the scene before we embark on a journey to discover the City of London’s unique history and how it entwines with mythology of Ancient greek.

We discuss the Saxon influence on culture at the steps of The beautiful St Alphage church ruins.

The Roman wall is the physical structure that helped fortify the City of London from outside influence ever since the Romans built it.
We also delve into the Celtic people. The indigenous people of these lands and the ones who made it necessary for the Romans to fortify Londinium with the wall!

Having set the scene we look to the Salter’s Hall to delve into the history of London’s history of Trade, Governance, and Sacrifice through the years. The Salter’s Hall being ranked 9th among the 12 most important Livery companies (formerly known as Guilds).

The town hall of the City of London has been on its current site since at least the 13th century. We take a look at it’s history and mythology since Greek through to Roman, Saxon and Norman influences.

A Roman temple in the heart of the City of London dedicated to the Sun god Mithras who is always seen defeating the Bull. The Bull is a symbol of prosperity, and it is also an influential astrological symbol. Throughout history the Bull has been sacrificed to bring in the new.
