Stop At: Hever Castle & Gardens, Edenbridge, Hever TN8 7NG England

After being met at your central London accommodation by your own personal driver and guide you will be driven out of the city and to the beautiful Kent countryside. The county is referred to as “The Garden of England”

You will be given a tour of the grounds and introduced to the rich history of the estate by your personal 5 star rated guide.

It will then be time to tour the interior of the Castle and learn about the lives of some if the Castles most famous former residents.

You can roam at your leisure or your guide is happy to accompany you and point out some of the highlights and hidden history.

Hever Castle has a wealth of history; most recognizably it was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn.

The original medieval defensive castle with its gatehouse and walled bailey was built in 1270. In the 15th and 16th centuries the Boleyn family added the Tudor dwelling within the walls. The Castle was then owned by a number of families before William Waldorf Astor invested time, money and imagination in restoring the Castle, building the ’Tudor Village’ and creating the gardens,  lake and golf club.

The Guthries, a Yorkshire family based in Scarborough are the current owners of the Hever Castle Estate. During their custodianship they have invested greatly in the historical integrity of the estate and are helping to make Hever Castle more environmentally friendly.

After you have enjoyed the magnificent surroundings you will be driven back to your accommodation in London or to a central location within the city.

Take a relaxed, non rushed and private tour tailored personally to you.
