Stop At: Roman Army Museum Carvoran Greenhead, Hexham CA8 7JB England
We will stop here and take you on a guided tour of the museum. The museum is a fantastic introduction to life in the Roman Army.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Sycamore Gap, Pennine Way / Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland National Park England
We will stop for a brief photo opportunity of this iconic location. You will recognise this place from many photos of the area but also because it featured in the the film “Robin Hood” with Kevin Costner.
Duration: 5 minutes
Stop At: Housesteads Roman Fort – Hadrian’s Wall, Housesteads B6318, Haydon Bridge, Hexham NE47 6NN England
We will briefly stop for a photo opportunity of this Roman fort attached to Hadrian’s Wall.
Duration: 5 minutes
Stop At: Vindolanda Vindolanda Bardon Mill, Hexham NE47 7JG England
Here you will be taken on a guided walk around the museum and the roman remains of the fort and town.
Duration: 4 hours
Stop At: Steel Rigg, Henshaw, Hexham NE477AN England
We will stop here for a short walk to Hadrian’s Wall. Steel Rigg is located on a section of the Wall that is very easy to access and will give you a great feel for what life guarding it must have been like.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Birdoswald Roman Fort, Gilsland, Brampton CA8 7DD England
Here we will go for a very short walk alongside the Wall to see a remarkable image! We won’t spoil it for you by saying exactly what it is but we are sure it will raise a few eyebrows!
Duration: 10 minutes
Stop At: Banks East Turret – Hadrian’s Wall, Pike Hill Banks, Brampton England
A brief stop here to see the remains of one of the Turrets along the wall. These were important parts of the fortification.
