Itinerary

Day 1: Friday: London – Edinburgh

Pass By: King’s Cross Station, Euston Road, London NW1 2AL England
Meet your Tour Manager inside Kings Cross Station, next to the Information Desk, where we’ll depart in the early morning for Edinburgh. We’ll travel by high speed train and arrive in Scotland just after lunchtime. The train journey takes 4 hours 30 minutes, and travels through stunning scenery en route to Scotland including the Lake District. 

Pass By: Edinburgh Old Town, Edinburgh EH1 Scotland
On arrival in Edinburgh you will be collected for a panoramic tour of city, before being transferred to your centrally located, guest house accommodation.  

See the Royal Mile which links the Palace of Holyrood House with the ancient Edinburgh Castle, sitting on top of an extinct volcano! We will see St Giles Cathedral , the old Parliament Square and the Castle Esplanade. Learn of Scottish Royalty, King David, Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots.

After checking in at our guest houses, you’ll have the option in the evening join your guide in one of Edinburgh’s historic pubs to try local whiskies and maybe some haggis.

Alternatively, we have the option of a ghost tour to explore some of the city’s haunted places, a spine tingling way to end the evening. You’ll need to book the ghost tour with our guide earlier in the day.

Day 2: Saturday – Optional upgrade to Loch Ness & Highlands

Stop At: Loch Ness, Scotland
On day two, you will have the choice of a free day in Edinburgh to continue exploring, or join our optional excursion to Loch Ness & the Scottish Highlands, with entry to Urquhart Castle and a boat cruise along Loch Ness included. Select ‘Loch Ness & Highlands included’ at the time of booking.

This upgrade is £59 extra and is subject to availability.

If you do not wish to join us to Loch Ness, there are some fantastic attractions including Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood House, Royal Yacht Britannia, National Museum of Scotland and more.

Day 3: Sunday – morning in Edinburgh, Edinburgh – London

Pass By: Calton Hill, St. Andrews House 2 Regent Road, Edinburgh EH1 3DG Scotland
In the morningn, we climb Calton Hill to see the National Monument and admire the view towards Arthur’s Seat, a 250m high rocky crag that lies within the whole city. We will learn of Scotland’s writers, Robert Burns, Sir Walter Scott and Robert Louis Stevenson, view their memorials and see where they lived. We will then have some time in Edinburgh for some final sightseeing and shopping. See the traditional Scottish shops on the Royal Mile, or take a stroll in the more modern Princes Street. You will be transferred from the city center accommodation shortly after lunch and transferred to the train station for the relaxing journey back to London. Arrival time back into London is between 7.40pm and 8.40pm.
