Callander, often referred to as ‘The Gateway to the Highlands’ is a small town that became famous during the Victorian days as a popular holiday destination for visitors trying to espace the big industrialised cities in search of nature, beautiful scenery and fresh air. The town has retained much of its Victorian character, and you will have 1 hour to explore the many independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
The famous ‘Kelpies’ are 2 horse-like statues almost 100 feet tall. These are the largest equine statues in the world.
