Itinerary
After your scenic bus trip from Galway City, join a guided hike in scenic Connemara National Park for a moderate 2-3 hour climb to the top of Diamond hill along one of the four trails that are accessible from the park grounds. It is a looped walk that is 7km in length and has a height gain of roughly 500m. Your local guide will share his knowledge about the park, its flora and fauna, the blanket bogs that are a feature of the area as well as the area’s local history and wildlife.
It is worth noting that there are steep sections at the top and it can be very windy up there, but the views are well worth it!
On your return enjoy a light lunch in the park tea room and spend the time at your leisure exploring more of the park, local village and perhaps enjoy a drink in one of the village pubs!
After a relaxing afternoon take your onward bus trip back to Galway City. Bus departs Letterfrack at 18:00. This hike is also available as a private experience.
