I will meet walkers at the top of the Royal Mile and then we will walk down to Holyrood exploring the rich history of the ancient heart of Edinburgh. Along the way, walkers will Learn about the Royal Mile and its links to JK Rowling, witch trials, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Enlightenment legends Adam Smith and David Hume, the poet Robert Burn and his secret lover ‘Clarinda’, serial killers, public executions, Jules Verne, Secret Gardens and the Outlander series. You will see a remnant of the old city wall and gatehouse, and learn about the city’s connections to slavery.
